Good writing is easy to recognize

Regardless of the type or style of writing, the hallmarks of good writing remain: saying something relevant in a way that’s understandable, engaging and informative.

One of my favorite contemporary journalists is Kelly Benham, a features writer for the St. Petersburg Times. I adore her not because she’s an award-winning journalist, but because she’s simply a great read.
